Couple in Salonika
The photo was taken in Greece on June 29, 1929.
Could the smiling young couple be family? Or more likely friends of my grandparents.
The background could be the harbor, near the Tour Blanche, a popular strolling spot for young people of the time.
The stamp on the back reads "Castro, 25 rue Tsimiski".
Does the photo studio still exist in Thessaloniki?
This would appear to be the photographic and studio store of Mr. Albert Castro in Salonika, who died in 1996 or 1997.
